We’ve received information that someone is storing the counterfeits in his apartment and distributing them to Dongdaemun market. We’ve been tracing and found the locations of the apartment and shops in Dongdaemun and with the authority from Seoul Jung-bu Police, we arrested 2 wholesalers, 1 manufacturer and 1 material sellers and seized about 450 counterfeits.

Police have arrested manufacturers and sellers of the famous international brands’ counterfeits worth of tens of billion won.
June 1st, Seoul Jung-bu police announced that they have booked wholesalers Mr. Kim (44), Ms. Lee (45), bag manufacturer Mr. Lee (54) and material seller Mr. Son (47) without detention.
They’ve been storing the items in the apartment where it is known to be blind spots from police.
Wholesalers Mr. Kim and Mr. Lee have been storing 2,417 counterfeits equivalent about 1.2 billion won in the apartment located in Jung-gu, Seoul from 2013 July to 26th of last month. He asked the manufacturer, Mr. Lee to manufacture counterfeit bags including Hermes.
Mr. Lee have been sourcing materials from Mr. Kim to make the bags. Wholesaler, Mr. Son sold 2,070 accessories including keys attached to the bags. Manufacturing cost per bag was 120,000won and they sold it for 180,000 won to make 60,000 won profit per bag. While running shops in Dongdaemun, they also sold the bags to wholesalers and retailers in other cities and made average of 20 million won profit per month.
“Trademark infringement is not only hurting the brand but also the reputation of the country. We are going to continue to investigate the wholesalers who bought bags from them as well.” Said the authority.
