On 19^th, Feb, Seoul Jung-gu Office announced that they caught a group of people who sold the counterfeit products (aka “fake) in the middle of Myeongdong on 2^nd of Feb.

The district of Jung-gu said that the store strictly restricted the Koreans entering the place and secured a separate location to avoid raid actions, selling 120 pieces of counterfeits such as Louise Vuitton, CHANEL, HERMES, PRADA and etc.

The district put a mystery shopper (a guest in disguise) in order to catch the scene of selling the counterfeits. Since then, the undercover special judicial police followed and conducted a raid action on the secret store.

Under the current TM law, up to seven years in prison or fine of up to 100 million Korean won will be punished when distributing and selling the counterfeits.

Last year, the district conducted raid actions and seized 6,370 pieces of the counterfeits, which is equivalent to 3.6 billion Korean won in genuine products.
