Seoul Jung-gu Office has been given the special judicial police power for the first time throughout the local governments in 2012. Supported by the head office, they have been doing anti-counterfeit work in the locations and shopping malls where foreign tourists visit in Seoul. On 24 March, 2016, they announced that they have seized and sent 15,000 counterfeits to prosecution equivalent to 6 billion KRW from 2016 January to March.
